A friend described the Terry Malts record (Killing Time, on Slumberland Records) as a “garagier version of the first Pains of Being Pure at Heart record if Kip sang like Joey Ramone.” Pretty accurate. The speed, dumb-clever themes, and occasional bubble gum chord progressions recall some of the best 90s Lookout! Records pop punk, too.
